UVA Health is seeking a clinician focused on expanding knowledge and skills to provide effective direct care as part of an interdisciplinary team to a variety of complex patients. The role involves managing care and implementing treatment plans at a refined skill level in collaboration with patients, their families, physicians, and other members of the health care team. The position also requires seeking and providing feedback for improved clinical practice, and assuming a beginning leadership role with mentoring. The 5 South unit is a 28-bed unit serving living donors and recipients for kidney, liver, and pancreas transplants. It is a mixed unit caring for both Acute and Intermediate Care (IMU) patients, most of whom are immunosuppressed and on multiple hazardous medications. A small population of acute care medicine patients are also treated on this unit. The nursing practice at UVA Health is guided by the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements, and the UVA Nursing Professional Practice Model, emphasizing Relationship Based Care, Expert Caring, Empowered Leaders, Lifelong Learners, Quality Achievement, and Innovation.
