About The Position
Registered Nurse (RN) – Same Day Surgery Sinai Where you will work Downtown Milwaukee, WI, United States Patient Bays: 20 Patient Population: outpatient procedures prep and recovery of outpatient ortho, GYN, general bariatric, robotic, urology, plastics, dental and ECT patient and IV therapy, Pre-admission testing Culture: Collaborative, friendly, caring, and supportive Skill Mix: Experienced nurses and aides Staffing & Ratios: Elective surgeries scheduled 0715–1700 Schedule: Rotating staggered start times (0730–0830) Additional Info: Bariatric Center of Excellence GYN Teaching Hospital
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
- 1-2 years of inpatient nursing med/surg, ICU or ED, or periop experience
Responsibilities
- Deliver individualized care using the nursing process—assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
- Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition, mobilizing resources and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Promote patient safety by implementing risk-reduction strategies and reporting safety events promptly.
- Educate patients and families, adapting teaching methods to meet unique learning needs and supporting readiness for discharge.
- Coordinate care and discharge planning through an interdisciplinary approach, ensuring continuity across the healthcare continuum.
- Lead and delegate effectively, fostering teamwork and supporting unlicensed personnel.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient experience and unit performance.
- Maintain professional growth through ongoing education, competency completion, and participation in shared governance activities.
