About The Position

The Rehabilitation Institute of South San Antonio, operated jointly with Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for their Rehabilitation unit. This full-time night position focuses on providing superior patient care that exceeds industry standards and patient expectations. The role involves patient assessments, identifying needs, initiating nursing interventions, and providing age-appropriate care. Accurate and timely documentation of medical necessity, completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan, and QI assessments are key responsibilities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with the ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and meticulous clinical documentation, are essential.

Requirements

Current state RN license
Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school
Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire
ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire
Critical thinking skills
Decisive judgment
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action

Nice To Haves

One year of Rehab and/or Med Surg experience preferred
ASLS certification preferred

Responsibilities

Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
Performs timely and accurate QI assessments
