About The Position

This is a Full Time Registered Nurse position in the Behavioral Health department, specifically for the Geriatric unit. The role involves treating patients, educating them about mental and medical conditions, providing emotional support, running therapeutic groups, psychiatric crisis intervention, and managing seclusion and restraint. Responsibilities also include recording medical histories, operating medical machinery, administering treatments and medications, and assisting with patient follow-up and rehabilitation. Additionally, RNs will teach patients and their families about managing their conditions, diet, exercise, medication self-administration, and physical therapy.

Requirements

Current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse
Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current
Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards
Working knowledge of interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units
Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health care
