Registered Nurse (RN) - Progressive Care (PCU)
About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) - Progressive Care (PCU) position is a full-time role at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health. The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is a 42-bed department where RNs provide comprehensive, direct care to patients and their families. Nurses practice to the full scope of their license, working under the direction of the Nurse Manager as key members of a patient-focused care team. They collaborate to implement individualized care plans and drive positive patient outcomes, actively participating in continuous performance improvement initiatives. This unit specializes in managing acute cardiac patients, including those requiring invasive line management and post-carotid and femoral procedure care. Nurses focus on adult and geriatric populations, delivering appropriate interventions, therapies, and monitoring outcomes. The shifts are 12 hours, with both day (7A) and night (7P) opportunities available.
Requirements
- Current state RN license
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school
- Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire
- ACLS Certification
- One-year acute cardiovascular care experience or other comparable nursing experience
Nice To Haves
- ASLS certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
- Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
- Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
- Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
- Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
- Performs timely and accurate QI assessments
