Registered Nurse (RN) - Progressive Care (PCU)
About The Position
Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for their Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This is a full-time position with variable 12-hour shifts, including weekend and holiday rotation. The PCU is a 42-bed department where RNs provide comprehensive, direct care to patients and their families, practicing to the full scope of their license. Working under the Nurse Manager, RNs are key members of a patient-focused care team, collaborating on individualized care plans and driving positive patient outcomes. The unit specializes in managing acute cardiac patients, including those requiring invasive line management and post-procedure care. Nurses focus on adult and geriatric populations, delivering appropriate interventions and monitoring outcomes. Both day (7A) and night (7P) shift opportunities are available.
Requirements
- Current state RN license
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school
- Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire
- ACLS Certification
- One-year acute cardiovascular care experience or other comparable nursing experience
Nice To Haves
- ASLS certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
- Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
- Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
- Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
- Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
- Performs timely and accurate QI assessments
