Registered Nurse (RN) Progressive Care Overflow
About The Position
Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for its Progressive Care Unit Overflow (PCU 4). This is a full-time night position with rotating weekends. The role involves providing direct patient care using the nursing process, performing interventions, documenting care, monitoring patient conditions, and coordinating care across disciplines. The nurse will also educate patients and families, advocate for their well-being, and participate in performance improvement and continuing education. The position requires regular and reliable attendance and may involve other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in nursing required
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current RN license in state of practice
- BCLS required
- ACLS
- PALS
Nice To Haves

Responsibilities
- Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
- Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
- Documents patient care and monitors patient condition, communicating with care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
- Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.
- Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
- Participate in performance improvement and continuing education.
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
