About The Position

Registered Nurse, RN (PRN) – GI Lab Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better + Together Work location: Texas Health Frisco, 12400 N Dallas Parkway TX 75033 Work Hours: PRN; 1–2 shifts per week (6–8 hours), Monday–Friday between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM. Position includes on-call requirements and candidates must reside within the required response radius for call coverage. Requirements

  • Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program or Diploma Nursing program required
  • 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting required
  • RN – Registered Nurse required upon hire
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support required prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support required within 90 days of hire
  • PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support required within 90 days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred
  • GI Lab experience preferred
  • 1+ year of procedural/OR experience preferred
  • Candidates with 5+ years of RN experience will be considered, even without GI or procedural experience

Responsibilities

  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
  • Assesses the patient
  • Plans the care of the patient
  • Intervenes as appropriate
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
  • Incorporates age-specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant other’s need for information
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out-of-hospital transfers.
