About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the PreSurgery Holding position at Atrium Health Pineville plays a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process. This involves delivering safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. The RN will utilize evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, compassion, and communication skills to lead efforts in creating the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum of care. The Day Surgery department at Atrium Pineville cares for both inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures, with nurses responsible for the preoperative preparation of surgical patients and the phase II recovery and discharge for patients leaving the facility post-surgery. The department features 24 individual patient care bays, access to two medication rooms with Omnicells, and a centralized nurse’s station. Teammates work closely with surgeons, anesthesia teams, and OR staff to deliver excellent care. Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association

Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process.
