About The Position

As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum. 5 North is a 26-bed General Surgery specialty unit. We are a Med-Surg Unit with heavy surgical volume. We specialize in: Elective bariatric weight loss surgery - these are typically our happiest and easiest patients. They go to the OR and are expected to be up and ambulating on post op Day 0. General surgery - appendectomies, cholecystectomies, small bowel obstruction, etc. Foot and ankle ortho - total ankle replacements and infected foot wounds, BKA's etc. Urology surgery. A Nurse on our Unit will gain experience in drains of all kinds, wound vacs, central lines, NGT, DHT, and all surgical things!

Requirements

Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
