About The Position

The Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) serves as the expert for nursing practice in assigned department/unit/service line. The Clinical Nurse Leader is responsible for helping to create and promote a culture that promotes quality patient care and service excellence. Utilizes and teaches evidence-based practices to develop the clinical competence of bedside caregivers. This position will engage and motivate staff to achieve a culture of clinical excellence by coaching, teaching, encouraging, demonstrating and role-modeling expected behavior of staff. Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
BSN or enrolled in a BSN program.
3 years’ experience in acute hospital based nursing practice, in area of specialty.
Possession of current Texas State License for Registered Nurse.
Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

Clinical Master’s in Nursing in areas of specialization or Clinical Education.
Previous CNS and/or Clinical Educator experience and/or past supervisory experience.
Certification in Professional Staff Development and/or Clinical Specialty.
ACLS/TNCC, PALS/ENPC, NRP, S.T.A.B.L.E., Fetal Monitoring, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are required depending on department hired.
