About The Position

This position is for an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) in Pediatric Adolescents at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem, NC. The role is full-time, with benefits eligible status, and operates on night shifts (7p-7a). The unit, 9 PA, is a fast-paced, 16-bed acute care unit that cares for children ages 12-21 with a variety of medical conditions requiring short- to moderate-length hospital stays. The unit culture emphasizes adaptability, collaboration, and continual learning to ensure safe, evidence-based, and family-centered care. The team fosters a positive, resilient environment where nurses are empowered to grow, with a strong sense of teamwork and communication being unique to 9PA.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of RN experience required.
• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing.
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Nice To Haves

• 1 year of Peds experience preferred.

• Providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
