Registered Nurse (RN), Pediatric School Care - Temporary, Full-time
About The Position
This is a temporary, full-time position for a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Pediatric School Care, part of the Shift Nursing program. The role involves providing extended visits for medically fragile children, technologically dependent children, chronic/complex care adults, and palliative care patients, among others. As a VON nurse, you will deliver holistic, person-centred care to children, youth, adults, and seniors, supporting their families. The work can take place in clients' homes, VON clinics, virtually, and through community outreach. The position requires driving and offers autonomy while practicing to the full scope of nursing.
Requirements
- Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the province of practice
- Must enjoy driving, have a personal vehicle and possess both a current driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance
- A satisfactory Criminal Records Check is required; a Vulnerable Sector Search and/or Child Abuse Registry Check may also be necessary
- Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Responsibilities
- Client assessments to develop individual care plans
- Provide primary care in collaboration with other healthcare professionals
- Simple and advanced wound care, including complex and negative pressure wounds
- Chronic Disease Management, e.g. diabetes care and education
- IV therapy and CVAD management
- Phlebotomy and specimen collection
- Dialysis Management
- Rehabilitative programs
- Palliative and End of Life Care
- Medication management
- Other critical nursing skills
