Registered Nurse (RN) - Temporary, Full-time
About The Position
VON Canada is a not-for-profit organization providing home and community care services for over 125 years. Focusing on person-centred care, we provide the support people need and want, at home and in the community, so they can live healthier, happier lives surrounded by loved ones. As a VON nurse, you'll deliver holistic person-centred care to children, youth, adults, seniors, and support their families. You'll have the opportunity to work in clients' homes, in our clinics, virtually, and engage in community outreach. This role requires a detail-oriented approach in a dynamic environment, with physical activity including lifting, carrying (using proper techniques), bending, reaching, kneeling, and other movements that emphasize good body mechanics. Individuals in the role are required to walk, sit, stand, and climb stairs throughout the day, with some tasks requiring fine hand movements.
Requirements
- Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the province of practice
- Must enjoy driving, have a personal vehicle and possess both a current driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance
- A satisfactory Criminal Records Check is required; a Vulnerable Sector Search and/or Child Abuse Registry Check may also be necessary
- Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Responsibilities
- Client assessments to develop individual care plans
- Provide primary care in collaboration with other healthcare professionals
- Simple and advanced wound care, including complex and negative pressure wounds
- Chronic Disease Management, e.g. diabetes care and education
- IV therapy and CVAD management
- Phlebotomy and specimen collection
- Dialysis Management
- Rehabilitative programs
- Palliative and End of Life Care
- Medication management
- And many other critical nursing skills
