About The Position

The Pediatric Float Pool is a highly skilled team of nurses who provide care across the entire children’s hospital, including the NICU, PICU, acute care, hematology/oncology, and pediatric emergency department. This team exemplifies adaptability, clinical excellence, and self-motivation—thriving in diverse care environments while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and quality. Members of the float pool demonstrate exceptional critical thinking and flexibility, seamlessly integrating into various units to support patient care needs. Their versatility and professionalism make them an essential part of the hospital’s pediatric care continuum. As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.

Requirements

  • At least 1-year Peds experience
  • Graduation from accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 1 year of hire, per unit guidelines
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 1 year of hire, per unit guidelines

Responsibilities

  • Providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
