About The Position

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to work onsite in both our Peds Cath Lab at AFCH and Adult EP Lab at University Hospital. You will be an integral member of a talented multidisciplinary team working together to deliver quality care to pediatric patients, from neonatal to young adulthood, undergoing cardiovascular procedures and diagnostic cardiac catheterization in our hybrid cath lab at American Family Children’s Hospital (AFCH). You will also work in our main cardiac EP lab at University Hospital caring for a wide range of patients from young adult to geriatric. Practice in an environment that focuses on patient and family centered care. Be highly engaged in acquiring new skills and integrating evidence-based nursing practices into the unit culture. Enjoy participating in shared governance, with a unit-based council, to help support and drive quality improvement initiatives and lead practice change.

Requirements

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact Required
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification Required
  • Six (6) months nursing experience in Inpatient Units and Central Float (Adult & Pediatric), Radiology, Hemodialysis, Cardiovascular Laboratory or current participant in UW Health’s Nurse Residency Program with successful completion of the Nurse Residency Orientation on unit/similar unit Required
  • Two (2) years of nursing experience in Venous Access Team (VAT) & eICU Required
  • ACLS within 6 months Required
  • PALS within 6 months Required

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatric experience
  • Inpatient ICU level nursing experience
  • Prior cath lab nursing experience
  • Relevant RN Experience Preferred
  • Relevant Certification Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Deliver quality care to pediatric patients, from neonatal to young adulthood, undergoing cardiovascular procedures and diagnostic cardiac catheterization in our hybrid cath lab.

  • Be on-call for off hours, including weekends and holidays, with a 60-minute response time.
