About The Position

This position is for a Registered Nurse at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital, specifically within the Blood and Marrow Transplant Program (BMT). The BMT program is a world-renowned program with a history of pioneering bone marrow transplants. The Pediatric BMT & Heme/Onc Unit (Unit 4) provides care for pediatric hematology/oncology, GI patients, and their families, with 24 beds. The role involves working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to deliver quality care. Patient assignments will vary based on acuity, Med/Surg, or IMC. The position is 0.6 FTE (48 hours) every two weeks, working 12-hour Day shifts and every third weekend. Responsibilities include providing complex care to pediatric patients and families preparing for and undergoing blood and marrow transplantation, pediatric hematology-oncology, urology, blood and marrow, metabolic, and gastrointestinal disorders. The nurse will perform advanced monitoring, manage sophisticated medication and infusion therapies, care for patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and operate unit equipment safely and accurately.

Requirements

  • MN Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)
  • 6 months + RN experience inpatient pediatric BMT and/or Heme/Onc
  • Will consider New Grads with Capstone and/or SNI On Pediatric BMT & Heme/Onc

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing
  • 1 year + experience inpatient pediatric BMT and/or Heme/Onc
  • IMC Ventilator Trach Training
  • Chemotherapy Provider Course Completion

Responsibilities
