About The Position

This position is for a Registered Nurse at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital, focusing on pediatric Blood and Marrow Transplantation (BMT). The hospital is a leading institution in pediatric care, with a renowned BMT program that has a long history of innovation and excellence. The unit provides care to pediatric hematology/oncology, GI patients, and their families, managing complex cases including transplantation, hematology-oncology, urology, metabolic, and gastrointestinal disorders. The role involves advanced monitoring, managing sophisticated therapies, and operating unit equipment. The unit has 24 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 to 1:4.

Requirements

  • MN Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)
  • 6 months + Current Pediatric BMT or Heme/Onc experience OR have completed Internship/Capstone/Preceptorship in Pediatric BMT/Heme/Onc

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing
  • 1 year experience
  • Chemo Provider Course
  • IMC/Vent Trained

Responsibilities

  • Provides complex care to pediatric patient/families preparing for and undergoing blood and marrow transplantation, pediatric hematology-oncology, urology, blood and marrow, metabolic, and gastrointestinal disorders.
  • Performs advanced monitoring using current technology.
  • Manages sophisticated medication and infusion therapies.
  • Cares for patient undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures/interventions on the unit.
  • Demonstrates ability to safely and accurately operate unit equipment.
