About The Position

Inova Mount Vernon is looking for a Full Time Perianesthia (PACU) Nurse. The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) has 13 bays (10 phase 1s & 3 phase 2s) that serve a diverse surgical population including, general, spine, orthopedic, robotics, urology, plastics, gynecology, breast, podiatry, vascular, ENT and ECT procedures. The PACU team members are self-motivated, hardworking and a proficient group of nurses. Nurses care for patients in PreOp, Phase 1 and Phase 2 depending on patient needs. Mount Vernon is a community hospital with 8 OR suites that serves the population in robotics, general, orthopedics, spine, plastics, ENT, urology, and gynecology. The OR functions 24/7 with the support of call team on off-shifts and holidays. It is a fast-paced environment that focuses on strong teamwork and patient safety.

Requirements

• One year of critical care (ICU or ED) or PACU RN experience is required.
• Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate’s Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• RN license to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• ACLS, PALS, BLS healthcare provider certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA).

Nice To Haves

• 2 years plus PACU/Critical Care experience preferred.

Responsibilities
