Registered Nurse (RN) - PACU Bliss North
About The Position
Hartford HealthCare is Connecticut’s most comprehensive healthcare network, with Hartford Hospital being one of New England's largest and most respected teaching hospitals. It operates as a Level 1 Trauma Center, featuring the largest robotic surgery center in the Northeast and the advanced Center for Education, Simulation and Innovation (CESI). This role offers an exciting opportunity to join the new Bliss Building PACU team, helping to develop and grow a brand new 10-bay PACU unit. This unit will provide 24/7 post-operative care for patients undergoing a variety of surgical and interventional procedures. The PACU RN will be responsible for recovering patients from general and regional anesthesia, as well as IV and conscious sedation, requiring acute and ICU levels of care. The position emphasizes teamwork, autonomy, communication, critical thinking, collaboration, innovation, flexibility, and amenability to establish and facilitate interdepartmental workflows and relationships.
Requirements
- Current Connecticut RN License
- Current BLS and ACLS certification required
- Training program available and required for step-down and Emergency Department experienced RN
Nice To Haves
- Graduate of accredited nursing school with BSN preferred
- PACU and/or ICU experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Recover patients from general and regional anesthesia along with IV, conscious sedation requiring acute and ICU level of care
- Work with all disciplines to establish and facilitate interdepartmental work flows and relationships
