Responsible for pacemaker/ICD transtelephonic checks and more advanced pacer/ICD interrogations. This role involves maintaining professional and technical knowledge, assuring quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards, protecting patients and employees through infection-control policies, documenting patient care services, and maintaining continuity among nursing teams. The nurse will identify patient care requirements, establish a compassionate environment, promote patient independence, maintain a safe and clean working environment, resolve patient problems, and maintain cooperative relationships with healthcare teams. Additionally, the role ensures the operation of equipment, maintains nursing supplies inventory, and performs clerical functions related to the Device Clinic, including answering calls, distributing reports, posting charges, copying, and filing. The position also involves performing non-invasive diagnostic testing such as cardiac stress tests, nuclear stress tests, and stress echoes to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of heart disorders. Specialty functions include performing transtelephonic pacemaker checks, clinic and bedside pacer/ICD interrogations, and instructing patients and families on post-implant care and device management.
