About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) Outpatient Surgery position at Meadowview Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is a full-time role focused on providing exceptional care in the surgical services department. This department includes 4 dedicated operating rooms and one operating room for cesarean sections. The role involves performing plan of care interventions, documenting patient care, assisting patients with daily living activities, coordinating care across disciplines, providing patient and family education, advocating for patient well-being, and participating in performance improvement and continuing education.

Requirements

• Current Kentucky or compact state RN license.
• Associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care and monitors patient condition, communicating with care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
• Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
