About The Position

As a Medical Outpatient Services team member, you will have a voice to improve patient care and feel a strong sense of satisfaction in making a difference in the healthcare community as well as patients everyday lives. Medical Outpatient Services has dedicated team of nurses working together for our patients.

Requirements

• current VA RN license or compact state
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support required

Nice To Haves

• Bachelors degree preferred but not required
• Experience in acute care hospital, preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
• Documents patient care provided in a timely and accurate manner.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, psychosocial/spiritual support).
• Assesses learning needs and delivers age/culture-appropriate patient/family education.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Participates in performance improvement and required continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works other shifts/units as needed; may take on-call assignments.
