About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Outpatient Services team and help provide extraordinary care. The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to immediate pre-operative and post-operative patients. Through continuous assessment and patient monitoring, this role supports the early recognition and intervention of potential medical or surgical complications, ensuring patient safety and optimal recovery.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Nebraska, or licensure in a compact state with Nebraska established as the primary state of residence within 30 days of employment and a Nebraska temporary permit or nursing license obtained as required.
  • Current BLS certification required upon hire.
  • ACLS and PALS certifications required within 90 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous post-surgical nursing experience preferred.
  • Progressive care and/or critical care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Admit patients to the pre-operative area and complete comprehensive nursing assessments and documentation.
  • Perform pre-operative and post-operative patient evaluations and provide patient and family education.
  • Receive patients from surgery, assess their condition, and deliver appropriate post-anesthesia and recovery care.
  • Monitor patient status, identify changes in condition, and intervene as necessary.
  • Document assessments, care provided, patient outcomes, and progress toward established nursing goals.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-focused care.
