This is a full-time, 0.8 FTE position for an Outpatient Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) with a split role between the Aurora Cancer Care Grafton Team and Infusion center. The nurse will utilize the nursing process to provide age-specific and specialty-specific care, assess and address patient and family educational needs, and integrate health promotion and preventive care. Responsibilities include assessing social determinants of health, managing patient caseloads, anticipating changes in patient status, determining care priorities, and updating care plans. The role involves communication with physicians and providers, coordinating care, administering medications (including chemotherapy and other IV therapies) in the infusion setting, managing central venous access devices, and performing blood product transfusions and therapeutic phlebotomy. The nurse will also provide telephone consultation/triage and maintain accurate patient records. Additionally, the role supports staff orientation and educational activities, adherence to policies and procedures, and professional development within the specialty area. The nurse is expected to attend shared governance activities and share knowledge to improve care quality. The position requires the ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills for age-appropriate patient care, including understanding growth and development across the lifespan and assessing patient needs based on age-specific requirements.
