This part-time position, with benefits eligibility, involves 28 hours per week, primarily supporting an infusion nurse workflow with cross-training to the team. The hours are from 0800-1630, with no weekends, evenings, or holidays. Some floating to other cancer care clinics for support may be required. The role utilizes the nursing process to provide age-specific and specialty-specific care, assesses and addresses patient and family educational needs, integrates health promotion and preventive care, and manages symptoms according to the treatment plan. It also involves assessing social determinants of health, managing caseloads, anticipating changes in patient status, determining care priorities, updating care plans, communicating with providers, administering medications (including chemotherapy and biologics), managing central venous access devices, performing blood product transfusions and therapeutic phlebotomy, providing telephone consultation and triage, and maintaining accurate patient records. The nurse will also assist in staff orientation and educational activities, follow policies and procedures, and take ownership of professional development, including pursuing certification. The role requires sharing knowledge with team members to improve care quality and adhere to clinical standards.
