This is a PRN position to help cover high acuity days, PTO, sick call, and weekends for the Oncology Infusion RN role at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital. The role involves engaging in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices. The nurse will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families throughout the continuum of care. Responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, and collaborating with the care team to influence care outcomes. The role also emphasizes upholding a culture of safety, continuously evaluating outcomes, and taking action as needed. Administering medications, treatments, and therapies safely and according to clinical protocols is a key function. Effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution are essential for fostering team collaboration and appropriate delegation. The nurse is expected to pursue professional development, complete required education, and maintain certifications, while adhering to the ANA Code of Ethics and practicing ethical decision-making. Appropriate delegation to other nursing staff and accurate, timely EHR documentation are required. Floating to other units, departments, care areas, or facilities within the designated service area may be necessary to meet patient care needs. The nurse must demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of the patients served, including understanding growth and development over the life span and assessing data reflective of patient status to meet age-specific needs.
