This is a Full-time Registered Nurse position for the Outpatient Oncology Team and Infusion Float. The RN will float to all 13 clinics in Southeastern WI. The hours are 08:30-17:00 Monday through Friday, with one day off per week. An additional hourly float differential is provided to float RNs after orientation. The role requires one weekend working and one weekend on call per quarter, and one holiday assigned per year. The nurse utilizes the nursing process to provide ongoing care based on age-specific and specialty-specific needs, assesses educational needs, and provides teaching and counseling. The role integrates health promotion, preventive care, and symptom assessment/management. It also assesses social determinants of health and coordinates care with appropriate resources. The RN assumes primary responsibility for caseloads, anticipates changes in patient status, determines care priorities, and provides ongoing assessment of patient response to services. Communication with physicians and other providers is key to confirm and update the plan of care. The role involves administering medications, managing central venous access devices, and performing transfusions and therapeutic phlebotomy if assigned to the infusion center. Telephone consultation, triage, and care coordination are also responsibilities. Maintaining accurate patient records according to policies and guidelines is required. The position also assists in staff orientation and educational activities, follows policies and procedures, and takes ownership of professional development in the specialty area. Attending or coordinating shared governance activities, journal clubs, and Grand Rounds is expected, as is sharing acquired knowledge with team members to elevate the quality of care.
