About The Position

Our 12 chair Outpatient Infusion Center offers patients and their families a specialized care environment to meet their unique safety, physical and emotional wellbeing needs. Our highly skilled infusion team provides a wide range of antibiotic therapy, chemotherapy, hydration, blood transfusions, and other supportive care for both peripheral and central lines. Requirements

  • Diploma or Associate’s degree (ADN) required
  • Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining is required during orientation prior to providing patient care
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment
  • IV insertion skills required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred
  • Previous experience in healthcare field preferred
  • New grads are required to complete Norman Regional's Nurse Residency Program

Responsibilities

  • Systematically assesses / reassesses the health care needs of individuals; appropriate for specific age groups and patient conditions. Involves patient, family and other healthcare providers as appropriate.
  • Analyzes assessment to determine nursing diagnosis and expected outcomes, involving patient, family and other healthcare providers as appropriate.
  • Provides nursing care through interventions to achieve goals and needs using professional judgement guided by current practice standards, rules, regulations and policy.
  • Evaluates patient outcomes by utilizing the critical thinking process and evidence based knowledge to recognize problems, evaluate facts and reach sound conclusions.
  • Maintains professional working relationship with physicians to facilitate excellent patient care.
  • Assists in the maintenance of logs (patient/medication fridge, crash cart).
