11B provides patient care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients on a 24-hour basis. It is a 19-bed unit with all private rooms with an RN to patient ratio of 1:4 or 1:5. Most commonly, we care for patients with an injury because of a traumatic event like a motor vehicle accident, motorcycle accident, gunshot wound or fall with injury. These patients most commonly will have orthopedic injuries, an orthopedic diagnoses requiring surgical intervention, or other traumatic injuries requiring acute care. Our team is just one part of the larger multidisciplinary team that works together to restore and/or promote the patient's and the family's level of health and well-being. Our team is very engaged in process improvements and improving quality and safety outcomes for our patients. 11B is a fast-paced unit which requires organization skills, critical thinking, prioritization, self-confidence, and teamwork. As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
