About The Position

Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the 3 West Ortho/Trauma Team. This is a full-time position working 36 hours per week on the day shift. The RN is responsible for providing a competent level of nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. The role also encompasses professional performance standards such as ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health. The RN must possess the clinical knowledge and skills required for specific clinical areas. The 3 West Ortho/Trauma unit specializes in the care of patients with musculoskeletal injuries and related complications, with 24 inpatient beds. Patients admitted to this unit are from Ortho Joint, Spine, Fracture, and Ortho/Trauma centers, as well as medical/surgical patients. The unit offers a supportive team environment with resources like a nurse educator, orthopedic navigator, respiratory therapy, PT/OT, nursing care partners, unit coordinators, charge nurse, and manager. The unit actively participates in a Unit-Based Partnership Council and hospital-wide Nurse led Councils. Sentara also offers a 6-month Nurse Residency program for new graduate RNs with less than one year of experience.

Requirements

  • ADN required
  • Virginia or compact multistate RN (Registered Nurse) license in good standing
  • BLS within 90 days of hire
  • Experienced RN's and New grads welcome!
