About The Position

This 15-week full-time paid Perioperative Nursing Program is designed to teach RNs the scrub and circulating roles in the Operating Room, with the expectation of a long-standing career in an OR setting. The program provides classroom lecture, skill development during mock surgeries, and precepted clinical experiences. Following successful program completion, orientation and training continue as you gain knowledge and skills in other clinical OR specialties. The program aims to provide safe, efficient, age-specific nursing care to patients and families, assisting them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) or Master in Nursing (MN)
  • Knowledge of nursing process and practice
  • Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed clinical therapies (e.g., stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices)
  • Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio and/or Multi State Compact License (Required Upon Hire)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required Upon Hire)

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) May be required based on the clinical care standards of the unit.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) May be required based on the clinical care standards of the unit.
