About The Position

This position delivers patient care utilizing the nursing process through data collection and assessment, identifies and determines the priority of patient’s problems/needs, and evaluates the process and outcome of nursing care. The role also coordinates, provides, and directs patient teaching activities and coordinates the care provided by health team members. In collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team, the individual will conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment, analyze assessment data, create a plan of care, implement treatment, and evaluate treatment effectiveness. This role administers medications safely and serves as a point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments. The individual will also act as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the department and incorporating the professional practice model into care delivery.

  • BLS Basic Life Support, American Heart Association (required at hire for Roper St Francis Healthcare locations; preferred at hire, required prior to independent patient care at BSMH)
  • Valid nursing license from the state of practice (required)
  • Associate of Nursing, nursing (required) OR Diploma in Nursing (required)
  • Graduate of accredited school of cardiovascular science, or Graduate from accredited school of Radiologic Technology (RT), or Meets education provisions required to obtain RCIS through CCI and SC Board of Medical Examiners and has already received those credentials.
  • Minimum amount of experience to get required licensure/certifications/registrations outlined below is required.
  • Must maintain active Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Registration with the SC Board of Medical Examiners
  • Must maintain active RCIS certification through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
  • Must maintain active American Heart Association BLS and ACLS for Healthcare Provider.
  • In addition to the above, RTs must also be registered in Radiologic Technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART).
