About The Position

The Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist coordinates the technical and patient care components of cardiac and peripheral angiograms, interventions, and other invasive procedures. This role involves monitoring patients during procedures, recording hemodynamics, and assisting physicians with angiographic, interventional, implant, and other cardiac procedures. The specialist is responsible for all aspects of patient care in adherence to hospital and department policies and procedures, requiring a positive approach in a fast-paced environment. Emergency call duty with a 30-minute response time is also required. Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved school with an Associate Degree in Radiology Science, Cardiovascular Technology, Professional Nursing, or Emergency Medical Science with Paramedic Certification
  • For Paramedics with Associate in Applied Science in ENS with Paramedic Certification, must be registered with RCIS/RCES within 18 months of employment
  • Maintain current certification/licensure/registry status at all times
  • Maintain BLS certification
  • ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of employment and maintain current
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span
  • Possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patients’ status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the departments policies and procedures

  • Registered by ARRT, RN, RECS or RCIS and two years’ Cath Lab/EP experience
