About The Position

Roper St. Francis Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) or Invasive Cardiovascular Technologist (RCIS) for their Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology (EP) Lab at Roper Hospital. This role involves delivering patient care using the nursing process, including data collection, assessment, identifying patient needs, and evaluating care outcomes. The position also requires coordinating patient teaching and collaborating with health team members. The ideal candidate will have a compassionate, relationship-based approach and integrate quality improvement and evidence-based practices into their work. This is a full-time position with a 40-hour work week, scheduled from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm, four 10-hour days per week, with a rotating day off. Call is required. A minimum of one year of experience is sought.

Requirements

Minimum 1 year experience.
BLS Basic Life Support, American Heart Association (required at hire for Roper St Francis Healthcare locations; preferred at hire, required prior to independent patient care at BSMH).
Valid nursing license from the state of practice (required).
Associate of Nursing, nursing (required) OR Diploma in Nursing (required).
Graduate of accredited school of cardiovascular science, or Graduate from accredited school of Radiologic Technology (RT), or Meets education provisions required to obtain RCIS through CCI and SC Board of Medical Examiners and has already received those credentials.
Minimum amount of experience to get required licensure/certifications/registrations outlined below is required.
Must maintain active Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Registration with the SC Board of Medical Examiners.
Must maintain active RCIS certification through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
Must maintain active American Heart Association BLS and ACLS for Healthcare Provider.
RTs must also be registered in Radiologic Technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART).

Responsibilities

Delivers patient care utilizing the nursing process through data collection and assessment.
Identifies and determines the priority of patient’s problems/needs.
Evaluates the process and outcome of nursing care.
Coordinates, provides and directs patient teaching activities.
Coordinates the care provided by health team members.
Conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team.
Analyzes assessment data.
Creates a plan of care.
Implements treatment and evaluates treatment effectiveness.
Administers medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and organization policies and procedures.
Serves as point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments.
Acts as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the department.
Incorporates the professional practice model into care delivery.
