About The Position

This position delivers patient care utilizing the nursing process through data collection and assessment. The role involves identifying and determining the priority of patient’s problems/needs, and evaluating the process and outcome of nursing care. The individual will coordinate, provide, and direct patient teaching activities and coordinate the care provided by health team members. In collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team, the role conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment, analyzes assessment data, creates a plan of care, implements treatment, and evaluates treatment effectiveness. The position also serves as a point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments and acts as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the department. The role incorporates the professional practice model into care delivery.

Requirements

  • BLS Basic Life Support (required at hire for Roper St Francis Healthcare locations; preferred at hire, required prior to independent patient care at BSMH)
  • Valid nursing license from the state of practice (required)
  • Associate of Nursing, nursing (required) OR Diploma in Nursing (required)
  • BLS Basic Life Support (required)
  • Advanced cardiac life support by end of orientation period (required)
  • Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist with experience in Electrophysiology (required)
  • Completion of Cardiovascular Technology program (preferred)
  • None (EP Tech Work Experience)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors of Science, nursing (preferred)
  • Completion of Cardiovascular Technology program (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Delivers patient care utilizing the nursing process through data collection and assessment.
