This is a part-time, per diem position in the Surgery Room department. The role involves engaging in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices. The Registered Nurse will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families throughout the continuum of care. Responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, and collaborating with the care team to influence care outcomes. The position requires upholding a culture of safety, continuously evaluating patient, team, and unit outcomes, and taking action as needed. The nurse may administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely and according to clinical protocols. Effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution are essential, fostering team collaboration and appropriate delegation. Professional development, required education, and maintaining certifications are expected. Adherence to the ANA Code of Ethics and ethical decision-making is required, respecting interdisciplinary roles and contributing to integrated, unbiased patient care. Appropriate delegation to other nursing staff and timely EHR documentation are also key responsibilities. The role may require floating to other units, departments, care areas, or facilities within the designated service area to meet patient care needs. The nurse must demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of the patients served, including understanding growth and development across the lifespan and assessing data reflective of patient status to identify age-specific needs.
