Join Kennestone’s BMW Oncology Nursing Unit in the Blue Tower and become part of a specialized team delivering exceptional care to adult Med-Surg Oncology and Hematology patients across the full continuum of care, from diagnosis and active treatment through recovery, palliative care, and hospice transition. Nurses on this unit play a vital role in administering anti-neoplastic and immunotherapy agents, managing oncology-related emergencies, and providing the compassionate support patients and families need during some of life’s most challenging moments. The BMW Oncology Nursing Unit offers a collaborative, patient-centered environment where nurses are empowered to grow their skills while working alongside dedicated physicians and interdisciplinary partners. With 18 spacious private rooms that support both patients and family caregivers, a strong staffing model, specialized mobility equipment, and a commitment to evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and innovative therapies such as Bispecific T-Cell Engagers (BiTEs), this unit offers both professional challenge and purpose. Job Summary: The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed care givers who ensure that patients, families and significant others receive individualized high quality, safe patient care. They practice in a clinical environment that is administered by Nurse Managers and other leaders and is supported through the Wellstar Shared Governance Model. The framework for practice is steered by the Wellstar Professional Practice Model and evidence-based practice and research. RN competencies are derived from these models and supported by the Wellstar Values. It is expected that all RN Clinical Nurses are licensed, knowledgeable and uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and implements the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards put forth by the American Nurses Association. As a member of the patient services team, it is expected that the individual upholds the voice of the patient, system policies and procedures while supporting service excellence goals.
Requirements
- Associates Nursing or Diploma (Nurse) Nursing
- RN - Reg Nurse (Single State) or RN-COMPACT - RN - Multi-state Compact
- BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor
- Completion of accredited/ approved school of nursing with requisition clinical hours
- Less than 1 year Direct patient care experience
