About The Position

We support our staff in achieving professional growth, collaboration, and accountability. This position involves a newly graduated RN practicing under the direct supervision of an experienced RN. The supervising RN will be available on the unit and can delegate tasks that the new graduate has been trained for and demonstrated competence in. The new graduate RN will receive preceptorship in providing safe, cost-effective care to patients, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care according to MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center Nursing Standards of Practice.

Requirements

  • A current California RN license is required.
  • A current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) certification is also required.
  • A Bachelor's of Science Degree in Nursing is also required.
  • Graduated from an accredited nursing program unless otherwise approved by the Nursing Executive Council (NEC). Approved accrediting bodies include: ACEN and CCNE; others must be approved by NEC.

Responsibilities

  • Practice under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.
  • Perform delegated functions taught in the basic nursing program, demonstrating clinical competence.
  • Receive preceptorship in the provision of safe, cost-effective care.
  • Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Adhere to established MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center Nursing Standards of Practice.
