About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) Neuro Telemetry position is a full-time role on the nights shift, working 36 hours per week from 7pm to 7am. The Neuro Telemetry Department at Texas Health Plano is a 25-bed unit that supports work/life balance and offers opportunities for educational and career growth. Nurses in this department improve the quality of care for neuro tele patients, including those with scoliosis, post-neuro surgeries, and stroke with multiple comorbidities. It is a fast-paced, high-volume department where the professional nurse exhibits an understanding of basic human needs and recognizes and understands the patient’s affiliations.

Requirements

  • Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program Or Diploma Nurse Program
  • One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support and ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support and CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training 60 Days Req
  • RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator and coordinator for quality patient care

Responsibilities

  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
  • Assesses the patient
  • Plans the care of the patient
  • Intervenes as appropriate
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
  • Incorporates age-specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant other’s need for information
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out-of-hospital transfers.
