Registered Nurse (RN) Neuro Science
About The Position
Frye Regional Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse for its 20-bed Neuro Science unit. The unit cares for patients with a range of needs, including spine, neck, and head surgery, stroke, and seizure. Nurses work 12-hour night shifts, with self-scheduling and an every-other-weekend rotation, alongside experienced leaders and an interdisciplinary team. The Registered Nurse provides patient assessment and nursing interventions, care appropriate to each patient's condition and age, and timely, accurate medical-record documentation. The RN also completes and revises each patient's Interdisciplinary Care Plan and performs quality improvement assessments. This is a full-time position offering a commitment-incentive bonus of $10,000 to $20,000.
Requirements
- Current state Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required within six months of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
- 1–2 years of Neuro/Ortho RN experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Accurately perform patient assessments and identify patient needs.
- Identify and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
- Provide care appropriate to the patient's condition and age.
- Complete timely and appropriate documentation of medical necessity in the medical record.
- Complete and revise the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
- Perform timely and accurate quality improvement assessments.
