About The Position

Our Neuro/Neurosurgical ICU is seeking dynamic nurses to join our team of nursing excellence. Join Aurora St. Luke's, a 6-times designated Magnet facility! This is a Weekend Program Nights position. We offer comprehensive and progressive 12-week orientation, Continuing Education Credits, and robust Nursing Shared Governance. The Neuro/Neurosurgical ICU cares for patients post craniotomy, neck and spine surgery; stroke patients post TPA and/or IR intervention; patients with seizure disorders with continuous EGG and other neurological conditions. Nurses from the Neurosurgical ICU are part of the Rapid Response Team (STAT team) for the hospital, providing additional opportunities for growth and development of critical thinking skills as we support our patients and colleagues. Most patients are admitted from the OR, Emergency Department, or Tertiary Access Program (other hospitals within our network) by ground or Flight For Life. Requirements

Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
Completion of an accredited or approved program in Nursing.
Minimum 1 yr nursing experience in acute care nursing preferred
Demonstrates progression to provide holistic patient care and the ability to view clinical situations from a patient and family focus.
Demonstrates progression to recognize situational changes that require unplanned or unanticipated interventions, and responds to situations with confidence, timeliness and flexibility.
Proficient computer skills, use of electronic mail and electronic medical records systems.
Excellent communication (written and verbal), listening and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrates human relation skills with the ability to develop rapport and maintain positive, professional relationships with a variety of patients, team members and physicians.
Ability to take initiative and work collaboratively with others.
