About The Position

The Women’s Center at Texas Health Ft. Worth, a MAGNET facility, has been named “Best Place to Have a Baby” and is a Maternal Level IV Designated facility. This is a Full Time Nights position for the Neonatal ICU Department, which serves as a regional referral center for high-risk deliveries and offers advanced services for complex and high-risk infants. The department has over 600 NICU admissions per year and features a 63-bed Level III Neonatal ICU/NICU. The NICU is staffed 24 hours a day by neonatologists, pediatric sub-specialists, neonatal nurse practitioners, and skilled registered nurses dedicated to providing experienced care to babies with special health needs. The role involves delivering care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation, while incorporating age-specific safety and infection control measures. The nurse will also initiate actions to meet patient and/or significant others' need for information and maintain continuity of patient care.

Requirements

  • Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program OR (RN) Nursing Diploma
  • CLIA Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency (required)
  • One (1) year experience as a Registered Nurse, or completion of an RN residency program required.
  • RN – Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required
  • NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days is required
  • NRPA - Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 Days Required
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Required

Nice To Haves

  • BSN is preferred
  • One year of Neonatal ICU Level III RN experience strongly preferred
  • Prefer 18 months or more NICU RN experience in an acute care setting

Responsibilities
