Registered Nurse RN Labor & Delivery Full-time nights Sign-On bonus for eligible new hires
About The Position
The Women’s Center at Texas Health Ft. Worth, a MAGNET, and Texas 10-Step facility, has previously been named “Best Place to Have a Baby” and is a Maternal Level IV designated facility. This is a full-time position for nights (6:45PM-7:15AM) for 36 hours/week, with weekend and holiday requirements plus some call-requirements. The Labor & Delivery Department offers self-scheduling, a Robust Unit Based Council (UBC), and an engaged leadership team. The unit includes 18-bed LDR's, 5-bay OB/ED, 5 triage rooms, and 3 OR suites, averaging over 275 deliveries per month. The role involves caring for a wide range of patients and plans of care, including those receiving nitrous oxide, midwifery care, and high-risk patients.
Requirements
- Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program OR Nursing Diploma required
- CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency (required)
- RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required
- One (1) year experience as a Registered Nurse (RN), or completion of an RN residency program required.
- BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required
- ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required within 90 days of hire
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days is required
- NRPA-Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program 90 Days Required
- CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Required
Nice To Haves
- BSN is preferred
- Two (2) years or more of Labor & Delivery RN experience strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
- Assesses the patient
- Plans the care of the patient
- Intervenes as appropriate
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
