About The Position

This is a PRN (as needed) opportunity for an experienced nurse interested in joining the Mobile Flex Pool. The role involves providing nursing care to patients using the nursing process, directing and leading team members, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide age/developmentally appropriate care. The nurse will focus on patient/family-centered care, addressing physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs. This includes assessment, developing nursing diagnoses, outcome identification, planning, implementing interventions, coordinating care, health teaching and promotion, and evaluating goals and interventions consistent with MUSC policies. The position also requires maintaining a safe, therapeutic, and healing environment, ensuring patient privacy, and demonstrating professional behavior. Active participation in a professional practice model is expected, including shared governance, adherence to standards of care, peer review, professional development, effective team skills, autonomous practice, and accountability for actions and critical thinking. The role also involves coordinating the effective and efficient delivery of patient care services through care management principles, identifying clinical priorities, and initiating actions to improve patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree
  • A minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse required.
  • Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
  • Must have at least 1 year RN experience

Responsibilities

  • Provides nursing care to patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation).
  • Directs and leads other assigned team members and collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with nursing standards of care and practice.
  • Provide patient/family centered care using the nursing process and focusing on the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs.
  • Maintains a safe, therapeutic, and healing environment through ensuring patient privacy and responsive, respectful, accepting, and professional behavior.
  • Demonstrates the ability to function in a professional setting through active participation in a professional practice model.
  • Coordinates the effective and efficient delivery of patient care services through the application of care management principles.
  • Identifies clinical priorities and initiates action to improve patient outcomes.
  • Demonstrates ability to function in a professional practice model through active participation in shared governance, promotion of a healthy work environment and acceptance of personal responsibility for professional growth.
