The positions for this posting are located at Pee Dee Regional Center, an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF-IID) of BHDD-OIDD located in Florence, SC serving residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of a registered nursing education program for professional nursing or an equivalent course of study from a registered nursing education program per Section 40-33-32 of the South Carolina Nurse Licensure Act.
  • Licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse by the State Board of Nursing for South Carolina.

Responsibilities

  • Provides daily nursing care, training, activities, and treatment to the people who live at the Regional Centers in accordance with all licensing and certification requirements, the South Carolina Nursing Practice Act, and BHDD-OIDD.
  • Administers routine oral, subcutaneous, and intramuscular medications as well as treatments in accordance with nursing protocol, facility policies, and procedures.
  • Monitors health conditions of the individuals and reports findings to medical provider and appropriate staff.
  • Assists physician/practitioner with examinations and treatments as needed.
  • Maintains a safe and sanitary living and working environment.
  • Ensures accountability and protection from harm for all individuals through appropriate and thorough documentation.
  • Reviews Monthly Medication Administration Record (MAR) and 90-day recertification orders, completes health care records, AIMS/DISCUS, swallowing and Speech and Occupational Medicine (SAOM) Evaluations.
  • Assists with weights and heights as ordered and indicated by policy and procedures.
  • Properly documents as needed.
  • Performs and participates in activities as otherwise assigned by the supervisor to include, but not limited to, participation in on-call rotation procedure.
