This is a PRN opportunity for an experienced nurse interested in the MUSC Pee Dee Division Mobile Float Pool. Eligible to participate in the State Retirement Program. The role provides nursing care to patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation). It involves directing and leading other assigned team members and collaborating with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with nursing standards of care and practice. The nurse will provide patient/family centered care focusing on physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs, including assessment, nursing diagnoses, outcome identification, planning, intervention implementation, care coordination, health teaching and promotion, and evaluation of goals and interventions. A safe, therapeutic, and healing environment is maintained through ensuring patient privacy and responsive, respectful, accepting, and professional behavior. The role requires functioning in a professional setting through active participation in a professional practice model, including shared governance, adherence to standards of care, peer review, and professional development. Coordination of effective and efficient delivery of patient care services through care management principles, identifying clinical priorities, and initiating action to improve patient outcomes is also key. The nurse will demonstrate ability to function in a professional practice model through active participation in shared governance, promotion of a healthy work environment, and acceptance of personal responsibility for professional growth.
