This is a PRN opportunity for an experienced nurse interested in joining the Mobile Float Pool. The role involves providing nursing care to patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation). The nurse will direct and lead other team members and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide age/developmentally appropriate care. Patient and family-centered care is a focus, addressing physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs. This includes assessment, developing nursing diagnoses, outcome identification, planning, implementing interventions, coordinating care, health teaching, promotion, and evaluating goals and interventions consistent with MUSC policies. Maintaining a safe, therapeutic, and healing environment is crucial, ensuring patient privacy and demonstrating responsive, respectful, accepting, and professional behavior. The role requires active participation in a professional practice model, including shared governance, adherence to standards of care, peer review, professional development, and effective team skills. Coordination of effective and efficient patient care services through care management principles is also a key aspect, identifying clinical priorities and initiating actions to improve patient outcomes.
