Our campus also houses a Women's Imaging and Breast Center, bariatric clinic, ambulatory surgery center, and various physician practices to meet diverse community health needs. The Mother/Baby Department offers a supportive team environment and family atmosphere, with a strong shared governance structure featuring unit-based councils that empower nurses to shape their work environment. The department also utilizes new and advanced equipment and technology.

Requirements

  • Nursing Diploma required or Associate’s degree in Nursing required or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred
  • 1 year experience as registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program required
  • 3 years of Mother-Baby/Postpartum experience strongly preferred
  • Texas RN - Registered Nurse required upon hire
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care required upon hire and maintained quarterly
  • NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program required within 90 days of hire
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training required within 90 days of hire and maintained annually
  • A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred
  • 3 years of Mother-Baby/Postpartum experience strongly preferred
