About The Position

This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Mother/Baby Department at Texas Health Rockwall. The role is PRN (as needed) for night shifts, requiring a minimum of six 12-hour shifts per six-week period, two weekend shifts per six-week period, one major holiday, and two minor holidays per year. Training will be conducted at the corporate office in Arlington for the first 1-5 days of hire. The Mother/Baby Department is highlighted by a supportive team environment, a strong shared governance structure with unit-based councils, and advanced equipment and technology.

Requirements

  • Nursing Diploma required or Associate’s degree in Nursing required or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred
  • 1 year experience as registered nurse required
  • 1 year of Mother-Baby/Postpartum experience strongly preferred
  • Texas RN - Registered Nurse required upon hire
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care required upon hire and maintained quarterly
  • NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program required within 90 days of hire
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training required within 90 days of hire and maintained annually
  • A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
  • 1 year of Mother-Baby/Postpartum experience strongly preferred
